If your show has automatic ads enabled (also known as dynamic or programmatic ads), then you can manage your ads at the episode level.
Note To manage your pre-roll and post-roll settings at the show level, see Manage Pre-Roll and Post-Roll Ad Settings for Your Show. |
To manage the automatic ad settings for an episode:
- Add or edit an episode.
- Click the toggle next to the Advertising section header to turn on advertising for this episode. If your show has automatic ads enabled, you will see options to include mid-roll, pre-roll, and post-roll ads.
Notes
- Ad Slot tools work best in a Chrome browser on a Mac or PC.
- Any ad blocking plugins must be turned off.
- Tools work with CBR (Constant Bit Rate) files; we do not support VBR (Variable Bit Rate) files.
The following options are available:
Slot Picker |
After you have uploaded or selected an MP3 audio file for your episode, you can use the waveform to visually select the location of mid-roll ads.
|
Time | When you are visually selecting the location for a mid-roll ad, the time you have selected displays in a time box below the waveform. You can also use this box to manually type in the time to set the position of the mid-roll ad marker. |
1 Ad/ 2 Ads / 3 Ads / 4 Ads | Use this dropdown to select whether you want 1, 2, 3, or 4 ads inserted into the selected mid-roll point of your episode audio. |
Add Slot |
Click the Add Slot button to insert the selected mid-roll ad slot into your episode.
|
Pre-Roll | Displays whether you have selected 1, 2, or 3 ads to play at the beginning of your episode audio. If you have not set this at the show level, you can change the number of pre-roll ads or turn them off for this episode. |
Post-Roll | Displays whether you have selected 1, 2, or 3 ads to play at the end of your episode audio. If you have not set this at the show level, you can change the number of post-roll ads or turn them off for this episode. |
After you publish your episode, the Episodes List displays the number of automatic ads in the episode. Mouse over a number to see whether it is the pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll ad count. (The mid-roll count is the total number of mid-roll ads across all your configured mid-roll slots.)
