Early archiving is a feature that lets you archive your content before the end of the month to free up space in case you need to exceed your monthly storage quota. For example, if your plan lets you upload 540 MB per month, but you're publishing more episodes than usual and you're pushing against your limit, then you can pay a one-time fee to archive some of your content early to free up space and publish more for just this month without having to upgrade to a higher plan. (It's sort of like paying an overage fee on your cell phone plan for one month instead of upgrading your plan for every month.)
Early archiving costs 5 cents per MB of content, but the minimum fee for the service is $5.
To archive your active content early:
-
Click Dashboard in the top of your Libsyn account to display the Dashboard page.
-
Find the Monthly Storage section and click Manage to open the File Manager page.
- Click the
icon at the top of the Active Files section.
- Select one or more active files to archive. You can filter the list using the
icon to search or the
icon to filter. The
icon can be used to display only Active content. See Understand How Your Monthly Storage Works.
Note
You must only select files with a status of Active because those are the files from the current month that are actively counting toward your monthly storage quota. These statuses are used only to track your uploads and storage. There is no difference between archived and active files in terms of availability or accessibility for your listeners.
To select a single file, click thein the row for the file and select Archive from the menu.
To select multiple files:
a. Click the icon.
b. Select the checkbox for one or more active files. (The checkbox in the header selects or deselects all the checkboxes at once.) c. Click the Archive button. - In the window that opens, click Agree To Charge to confirm the charge. The episodes you selected are now archived, and you have more space to publish this month.
Note
You can view your invoices for archive charges by clicking the More Invoices button on your Billing page. See View Your Invoices.
